Colleen Carcone consulting with clients on their estate planning

I’m Colleen Carcone, founder of Carcone Law, PLLC. I work with individuals and families to create thoughtful, customized estate plans designed to protect the people they love, reflect their wishes, and support the legacy they want to leave behind.

My practice is grounded in estate, tax, retirement, and charitable planning, and is guided by a highly personalized and collaborative approach. I believe estate planning should be clear, practical, and tailored to the unique circumstances of each client.

I am a graduate of New England School of Law and the University of Vermont and a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and Boston Bar Association.

My work has included analyzing existing plans, identifying opportunities for improvement, coordinating with other advisors, and helping clients put strategies in place that align with both their personal goals and broader financial plans.

I bring a rare combination of legal training, financial planning insight, and real-world experience. I am admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and hold the CFP® and AEP® designations. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with high-net-worth individuals and families, with particular expertise in planning with retirement assets and integrating estate planning with tax-aware decision-making.

In addition to my client work, I have spent many years teaching and writing in this field. I am co-author of Principles of Estate Planning, published by National Underwriter.

My teaching experience has included estate planning instruction in CFP® programs, master’s programs, and law school settings. That work has deepened my belief that good planning depends not only on technical knowledge, but also on the ability to explain complex issues clearly and help clients make informed decisions with confidence.

I have been frequently quoted in national media as an authority on estate, tax, and retirement planning. My commentary has appeared in Barron’s, Fortune, Kiplinger’s, Fox Business, CNBC, NerdWallet, USA Today, MarketWatch, and other national publications and outlets.

That visibility reflects the depth of my work, but what matters most to me is helping clients feel informed, supported, and well served. Estate planning is personal, and I believe the process should be both thoughtful and approachable.

My approach is collaborative and highly personalized. I take the time to understand each client’s family circumstances, goals, concerns, and priorities so that the planning process is not just technically sound, but also aligned with what matters most to them.

I also understand that estate planning often works best when it is coordinated across a broader advisory team. When appropriate, I work with accountants, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other trusted advisors to help ensure that a client’s estate plan is coordinated, consistent, and designed to support their overall financial objectives.
